Lavishly dramatic

We love working with the team at Laviish and always look forward to our events there. Using such a fun venue that already comes with such a dramatic colour scheme, we only have to add highlights to have a fabulous themed party space.

This client wanted something classy to help celebrate her 40th birthday. Choosing a classic and slightly dramatic colour palate of red and black, which complemented the scheme already at Laviish, we added in a dessert station for 60 adults featuring some of our favourites, and a number of centrepieces scattered throughout the space to provide consistency with the feel.

The gorgeous cake was a red velvet mud cake - we are only disappointed that we didn't get a shot of it once it was cut!

Don't forget if you are looking for a fabulous venue in Melbourne, we highly recommend the team at Laviish and we can't wait to work with them again soon!

Spring has sprung!

{Gorgeous flowers from Velvet Lily Florist, used at our Alice in Wonderland party}

Spring has truly arrived in Melbourne, right on time, with a run of beautiful fresh sunny days and do you know what that means? Yep, it's party season!

We are excited with how heavily booked we are for the remainder of the year, with so many fun themes and events coming up! Christenings, communions, birthdays and christmas parties - we can't wait to get into it all! But this means we also have very limited spots left before our well earned Christmas break - so if you are thinking of having an Inspired Occasion, don't wait - give us a call or an email today!

We are also busy with a number of fabulous new projects, working with some great teams and we can't wait to tell you all about it over the next few weeks - but you will have to be patient with us until then.

As we get busier, you will be seeing some extra faces around The Inspired Occasion team. We will be introducing them to you over the coming weeks and we know you will look after them and say hi!

Finally, we will soon be offering sponsorship right here on our blog! Yep - after receiving so many requests - we have finally gotten ourselves organised and will be ready to offer this in the next week or so. If you are interested in finding out more about our blog sponsorship, please drop us an email here and we will keep you updated.

In the meantime, wishing you all a lovely weekend and hoping it's filled with sunshine and fun.

Unicorns and Rainbows - the final wrap

One of our favourite parts of any party is always the loot bags; with kids never hesitating in pulling them open and checking out their haul, often before they have even left the party!

When we started to prepare for Olivia's magical unicorns and rainbows party, we were hoping to have some donations for the loot bags...well, we couldn't have anticipated the gorgeous items that we received!

Each child at the party was lucky enough to receive not one, but two loot bags, each containing divine hair clips from 5 Star Baby, Dots and Daisys and The Little Sweetiepie Project. These fabulous ladies all donated enough of these for us to also use them at prizes for the games at the party - so kind!

They also all received a cute little tote bag from Coco & Chloe that contained a custom set of unicorn and rainbow mini badges, as well as some adorable beads.

There was also a range of gorgeous bracelets that were especially made by the lovely Charlibelle, that was tucked away inside the pack as well.

They also contained some a lot of lollies (it wouldn't be a favour bag without them!) from Sharp Kids and Memorable Sweets Candy Buffet, along with some novelty items also from Sharp Kids.

This fabulous loot was all tucked into these super cute stripy bags from Emerald+Ella and cute tote boxes from the new range designed by Candy Soirees

The kids also all received a lovely ribbon wand from Pinwheels and Pearls and a cute heart shaped lolly pop, which was also from Candy Soirees.

Another special part of any party is the entertainment. Sometimes its as simple as bubbles in the back yard and sometimes, well... it's more extravagant!

But this party... it had the perfect mix, with the fantastic teams from Pass the Parcel and Rosie's Rainbow Magic providing face painting, ballooning, singing, dancing, traditional games and even bubbles - much to the delight of all the kids. And with the addition of Eugenie the Unicorn provided by Hey Bambini, the party was complete!

We also had some donations that we somehow didn't end up getting a photo of... so our big thanks to the lovely Sara from Pom Pom Princess who donated some pom poms for the tent and a special tulle pom pom wand especially for Olivia, Helen from Miss Ruby May who made a gorgeous doll for Olivia, which we know is already well loved and Tania from Squiggle and Stitch who gave us some of her brilliant new helium balloon weights. We really appreciate your kind donations ladies!

Thank you again from the bottom our hearts to everyone who assisted us putting together this magical party. And a special thanks to From Genevieve, for not only being there on the day and taking all the shots for us - but also letting us share them here with you. We would highly recommend you dropping by Genevieve's blog and checking out all her gorgeous images.

We also wanted to thank the lovely Sherryn and Jacqui from Sugar & Spice Children's Market who assisted us in connecting with so many of these lovely businesses who ended up donating to this party. Thanks girls - we really appreciate your support.

Thank you again everyone.

Rainbows and Unicorns - Thank you everyone, thank you

"Thank you everyone, thank you." - Olivia Jones aged 6

These are the words spoken by a tiny little scrap of a girl, in the quiet lull just after blowing out the candles on her birthday cake. And we couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Today is Liv's 'real' 6th birthday and while we partied with her on Sunday, it seems fitting to be sharing the photos with you all today. We have kept you updated with the special party for Liv over the past few weeks (with posts herehere and here) and we very excited to let you all know how well it all went...

Tonight we will share some of the fabulous images taken by the delightful Genevieve from 'From Genevieve' who was our lovely photographer on the day.

You will find all the vendor details scattered throughout the post - but please don't hesitate to contact us if you are looking for more information on anything at all.

A table full of happy kids all enjoying their party food - what more could you ask for?

All of these vendors deserve a huge thanks from us - we were so lucky to have the opportunity to work with all of these lovely products and we can't thank you enough.

We do have more (!) vendors to share with you tomorrow... entertainers, all those kind people who donated items for the loot bags... so make sure you check back then.

In the mean time - please join us in wishing Olivia a very happy birthday!

Inspired By - Sweets in duck egg blue

We love it when our customers share with us what they do with our Edibles after we deliver them, and Linda has excelled with this dessert table.

Put together in celebration of her daughter Elisabeth's birthday, Linda based the table around a Robert Gordon pattern featuring a duck egg blue colour palate, with touches of pink.

We supplied the cupcakes, cake pops and macarons, while Linda made the gorgeous cake herself! We love the use of the fresh flowers on the cake, the bird cage and all the little details that make this such a pretty table.

What a gorgeous little princess! Thanks for letting us share this Linda and well done again on such a delightful table.

If you would like to order some Edibles for your next event, you can email us here.
