We are over here today!

We are madly preparing for our clients luau party this Saturday and also trying to help out another client with a last minute request, so TIO Headquarters is a bit crazy today!

In the meantime, you can catch us over HERE at the Handmade Hullabaloo with a round up of some of our stripy favourites!

Hope to see you there.

Featured Occasion - Emily's Garden Party

We love a garden party! It's such a delightful theme for little girls and big girls alike - who doesn't love an opportunity to enjoy a tea party?

So, when Niki from Candy Soirees contacted us to help her with some baking for a Garden Tea party that she styled for her god-daughter, we were thrilled to help out. She did a fabulous job in putting it all together (as always) and we are excited to share the photos with you all.

The gorgeous birthday girl checking out the table!

All styling, printables, chocolate beans, candy and gift bags are by Candy Soirees.

All edibles (cupcakes, cake pops and cookies) by The Inspired Occasion.

Also, in other exciting news; Alex has been busy finalising for our kitchen to be officially 'food safety certified' so we can offer the highest standard of baking. We will shortly be releasing a range of edibles for both retail and wholesale orders - watch this space!

Happy Easter from our family to yours

We just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and happy Easter. Hopefully you are enjoying a break with your friends and family - while indulging in lots of chocolate!

Easter kind of snuck up on us this year, with both of us focussing so much on the events we have happening over the next few weeks. We had the best of intentions to do crafts and baking, but we are fast running out of time!

However, I did spend some time today putting up some Easter decorations and am feeling slightly more in the spirit... now, where did I put those chocolates?!

This way to the beach ---->

We love the opportunity to design events around themes we haven't used before, so when a client approached about a luau for her daughters 12th birthday, we were very excited to start working on it!

While the event isn't for a couple of weeks, we delivered the invites this week and thought we would share them with you.

Each child received a white gift box that contained a Hawaiian lei, along with the invitation.

They were then wrapped up with bright pink raffia, with a little name tag added to each one.

We ended up doing 40 of them for her to distribute to her friends! They looked so lovely all lined up!

Excitement much?!

We may have mentioned it - only like 100 times - but we had a pretty big week last week with the media. While we love our business and are very proud of our little industry, I guess it comes as a bit of a surprise (but maybe it shouldn't) that others are so interested in us and our clients.

Anyway, when we were asked to be a part of the 7pm Project, Alex actually had to get me to sit down before telling me... and I am glad she did! We are both fans of the show, so to be asked to be a part of it and to be talking about something we are so passionate about, well, it was super exciting!

And being the totally uncool and obvious girls we are, I couldn't help but take a few shots of as Alex was prepared for her big moment! (Please forgive the quality - all taken with my iPhone)

In the cab on the way to the studios

We arrived early so enjoyed a champagne in the bar downstairs

This is a copy of the script that we were given... see I told you - easily impressed!

Here we both are, waiting to be escorted to the 'green room'

Alex in the magic chair! We have both put in requests for these girls to follow us around all day, every day... unfortunately they didn't agree!

And finally in the studio, in front of the green screen.

If you missed the show, you can watch it by clicking through to here. For some reason it doesn't seem to work for those outside of Australia - but trust me, Alex nailed it!

Oh - and I have to just quickly add in a thank you to our families. The past week has been pretty crazy over here at HQ (ok, my dining room/Alex's kitchen), with a number of big events on the go, school holidays, as well as all that unfolded last week.

We know we couldn't have done it all without the support of our parent's, sibling's, kid's and husband's. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts; we know you are proud of us, but we can't do this without you!

Ladybird Garden Party - photo shoot

It's been a pretty big week for us here at The Inspired Occasion...

You may have seen us in the media - which has been so exciting for us, and we were also THRILLED to have ended up in the Top 25 blogs for Party Planning over at Circle of Moms (you will hear more about this shortly)!

We also managed to put together a small dessert station for a photo shoot on less than a days notice! Luckily we had most of it prepared for a Christening we had today so as much as it was a rush to pull it together, we didn't have to start from scratch.

However, we did have to use what we had - not having time to order anything in, so we are very luck to have a good supply closet! Although - looking at these photo's - we obviously have more red smarties in than pink!

These cupcakes were so delicious! In the photo shoot the poor kids had to hold them for almost 2 hours before they were allowed to eat them - talk about torture!

Marshmallow, chocolate and edible glitter... mmmm yum!

These little tote boxes are available from Candy Soirees. They are so adaptable, we have used them a number of times now and they come up wonderfully each time.

We recently invested in a fairy floss machine - any excuse to use it!

Hope you enjoyed our little dessert station and all had a wonderful weekend!
