Dine and Shine - A Sunny night!

If you haven't already stumbled across the Sunny Mummy Sisterhood and you're a mum, then get yourself over there! Stacey Sullaphen, the owner and creator of Sunny Mummy is an amazing woman, filled with such a bubbly, infectious sunshine, that it's no wonder that this inspirational group is growing by the day.

So when Stacey announced her Dine and Shine Motherhood Celebration dinners, across 3 states in 3 weeks, we knew we wanted to be a part of it! We were thrilled when she offered us the opportunity to provide a dessert station for the Melbourne dinner.

Inspired by the fabulous graphic designs by Sarah at Style Me Gorgeous; we designed the table to reflect the bright and sunny theme of the Sunny Mummy website, using bright fabric and a custom designed paper range.

Tonight we will share the dessert station - cause we know that's what you all love - but we will give an update on the rest of the (fabulously Sunny) night later in the week.

On the table we served; Vanilla bean pana cotta, apple crumbles, sugar cookies, Oreo and butter cookie pops, chocolate, vanilla and carrot cupcakes. So much deliciousness on one table!

A great range of lollies including lemon sherbets, caramels, chocolate drops, jelly beans, smarties and bananas!

Each guest also received a chocolate bar and one of the fun sugar cookies to take home (along with a great goodie bag from the Sunny Mummy sponsors).

The cookie pops - always such a hit!

We do sell these, along with all our Edible range directly to our customers. You don't have to book a whole event with us to enjoy our yummy Edible range!

If you are interested, just drop us an email at occasions@theinspiredoccasion.com.au and we will send you through a price list.

These flowers were so lovely - thanks Velvet Lily! We loved that Li-Anne from Ham & Pea Paperie was one of the lucky winners of these arrangements at the end of the night!

The one and only, Sunny Mummy herself - Stacey!

Finally, we are only about 30 likers off the big 1000 on our Facebook page! If you haven't already found us over there, please drop by and like us :) Pretty please!

To market, to market...

We are so excited to be working on new projects and preparing for our first ever market stall, next weekend at Sugar & Spice Children's Market in Woodend. It's such a beautiful market and we want to make sure we match the high standards of the other stall holders!

This market will also be the debut of our new range, which we are very excited about! We had a photo shoot yesterday with all our new products, along with items from our new suppliers.

It was so much fun and we were so pleased with the results. Although we have either created or hand chosen each and every element, it was the first time we had them all together, in one place. I think we both expected there to be one or two things that just didn't work, so we were (secretly) pleased with how well it all came together.

We will be sharing photos from this shoot over the coming weeks, as we get ready to launch the new range officially. Until then, this sneak peek will have to suffice!

Dine & Shine with Sunny Mummy

We have long been fans of Stacey Sullaphen from Sunny Mummy, so when she announced her Dine and Shine dinners, we knew we had to get along to the Melbourne one. And when she asked for someone to do a dessert station, well, how could we not volunteer?!

Not only do we get to hang with a group of Fabulous (yes, with a capital F) women, but we get to meet the original Sunny Mummy herself!

It will be a busy weekend this weekend, with the Dine and Shine dinner on Saturday night and a (gorgeous) baby shower on Sunday, but we are well on our way to make both events super special.

See if you can guess which event these are for?

We are also very excited to announce that the wonderful and talented team at Velvet Lily Florist have donated a gorgeous floral centrepiece for our dessert station! We can't wait to see what they come up with!

If you are interested in coming along to the Dine and Shine dinner, there are still (very) limited tickets left. You can find out more here.

Cheers,

Cupcake inspirations

We love being a part of the special occasions in our clients lives and bringing them the special touches to help complete their days.

We also love being able to offer something new and different, as well as ensuring the quality of our work stays high. That's where professional development comes in.

Not only does it give you, our clients and loyal readers something new to inspire you, but we also love the challenge of trying a new skill and the feeling of accomplishment when we nail it!

This week Alex completed the first in a series of courses dedicated to cupcake decoration. I think she already does a fabulous job with her delicious cupcakes, but I must say, I can't wait to use these new designs on our next table!

Don't forget all our Edibles range including; cupcakes, cake pops, cookie pops, birthday cakes, sugar cookies and a full range of individual desserts are available for your next Occasion direct from our food safety certified kitchens to you.

If you would like a copy of our Edibles price list, or assistance with your next Occasion, please don't hesitate to contact us at occasions@theinspiredoccasion.com.au - we would love to hear from you!

Sugar & Spice and all things nice!

Earlier this month you might have noticed that we mentioned we would be sponsoring the Sugar & Spice Children's Market 1st birthday celebrations - you can read about it here.

This week we sent off some yummy (and very cute) lollipops to be included in the goodie bags for the first 100 market visitors! They were so much fun to put together and we hope that they are enjoyed!

The move into the beautiful world of boutique children's markets is a first step in the natural expansion of The Inspired Occasion offering. Don't worry though.... we aren't changing! Just formalising what we already offer and making some of our products and services easier for everyone to have access to.

We will continue to share this fun journey with you and we hope you all come along for the ride! And if you happen to be in Victoria, we would love to see you in Woodend on 5th June for the Sugar & Spice market!

A lavish disco party!

Who doesn't love to disco? The dancing, the music and the lights - what a fun theme for a young girls party! When we were planning it we wanted something fun and a little different - lots of glitter, sparkle and of course, disco balls!

We loved working with this little dancing queen to help make her disco party super special.

The dessert table was filled with all sorts of delicious treats... cupcakes, cookie pops, caramel popcorn, fruit cups and delicious dancing star biscuits.

The little disco dancers were also treated to jars filled with Hershy's Kisses, pink jelly beans, sour chews, musk sticks, chicco babies and pink choc beans from Candy Soirees.

The highlight of our disco dessert table has to be the cake that Alex made - it was perfect and exactly what we had in mind! And we heard that not only did it look fabulous, it was delicious!

We also put together a gorgeous kids table for all the little dancers to eat at, complete with disco ball centrepiece, in between dancing away to the DJ and having their faces painted!

The venue for this party was Laviish in Fairfield. We are looking forward to working with the Laviish team again in the future, with us recently agreeing to become the exclusive stylists and dessert station suppliers for this fabulous venue!

So, next time you are in search of that perfect party venue for your Occasion - whether it be for a 21st, 18th, 40th, kids disco party or even an engagement, then make sure you check Laviish out.

Cheers,

The Little Red Train inspired picnic

We were very excited when we were recently asked to put together a picnic inspired by the book series 'The Little Red Train' for a special little boy.

The venue was perfect for a bunch of 7 year old boys; a miniature railway, that the children could ride, with the bonus of a play ground. With the uncertainty of Melbourne's weather, we provided a marquee (which we now have available for rent) - but it turned out to be a perfect day with crisp sunshine and blue skies.

The marquee was decorated with bunting designed to match the Little Red Train theme, along with some fabulous fan garlands. They fit the theme really well and were a great way to make the party festive without adding a lot of 'bulk' to the space.

With 30 children and an outdoor venue, a picnic was suggested to keep things simple. We provided each child with their own lunch box, which contained a delicious pizza slice, a fruit cup, sprinkle bread and some crisps - all favourites of the birthday boy.

The tables were set with large centrepieces, with big oversized red balloons and little red trains.

Alex also made this gorgeous Little Red Train cake, which was a delicious chocolate mud cake. The birthday boy was so excited when he saw it - which is what we do this for!

This was a wonderful, classic and no fuss way to have an outdoor party and we can't wait to do another one soon!
