Prima Ballerina - Part 2 (the desserts!!)

As promised, the second part of the Prima Ballerina party we styled for my daughters 6th birthday. If you happened to miss part one - you can catch up here.

Tonight - the dessert table! As my daughter see's a lot of the parties we prepare for clients, she had pretty high expectations of what she wanted for her party. She made it clear (in a nice way, of course!) that Alex was to make her a ballerina cake, she wanted cupcakes, lots of lollies and lolly pops. Luckily we were able to deliver!

I did forget last night to share the invite with you all... it was the starting point for the party and set the scene for the theme. Our little ballerina, which we drew, also featured through-out the party on the decorative printables. We will also have this package available to clients shortly.

So, here is the table!

And now the details...

We had some super cute 'chocolate barres' made by Candy Soirees - they were a real hit on the day, with the kids and parents alike.

The popcorn and berries were served in these super cute polka dot cups from Sweet Little Birdy. They were the perfect size for little ballerinas and made serving the kids very easy.

The cake pops and cupcakes were made by Alex. As usual she did a fabulous job - with the kids going back for seconds and thirds!

We also had some ballerina sugar cookies, made with Bubble and Sweet's recipe. It was so easy to make, kept beautifully, was easy to decorate and best of all - tasted delicious! I only wish I had taken more photo's as they looked really cute in the little bags with personalised notes on the top...

Inspired by Candy Soirees, we designed these personalised lolly pops for the guests to take home. They were so popular that I know we will offer them again to other clients.

These were the cute little 'ballerina' lolly bags that I made for the kids to take their loot home in. I was keen to do something a bit different and wanted it to tie in with our theme, so when I came across this trim I knew it would work perfectly! I did contrasting colours of red with pink trim and pink ones with red trim. They were all finished with a little name tag and some tulle bows.

Each bag contained some ballerina stickers, a 'bendy' ballerina and of course, they were able to fill their bags with treats from the table to take home.

We had an adults buffet as well which featured; a fruit platter, some mini muffins, mini ham and cheese croissants and cupcakes. The highlight of this was the divine flowers from the lovely girls at Velvet Lily Florist.

I originally wanted pink and red flowers, but being the week before Valentines day this proved to be more difficult than I had expected! But the girls at Velvet Lily had a brilliant idea of using some gorgeous girly flowers in pink and white and then tie it into the theme with some matching red spotty ribbon. It was a great idea and worked beautifully!

The cake was also made by Alex. Gracie wanted a ballerina cake and loves the 'dolly varden' style. I don't know how she has made it to 6 and not had one of these cakes... anyway - this was her request and Alex delivered! Not only did it look divine, it tasted delicious!! It's a chocolate mud cake with a chocolate ganache filling...yummo!

Finally, I forgot to mention that our verandah was covered in pink and red honey comb balls (from Mon Tresor), lanterns and tissue paper pom poms.  I didn't get many good shots of it - but here is a taste!

And one final shot... again - one of my favourites. Taken during a quiet moment during the party, she looks so peaceful, calm and happy, with her hint of a smile.

Thanks for indulging me with all these photo's! We promise to put together some tutorials over the coming week and share them with you - just let us know what you would like to see!!
