Elephant Baby Shower

An Elegant Elephant Babyshower

(As featured on the Little Big Company Blog)

We recently created and styled an Elegant Elephant Baby-shower for a client who was hosting her sisters 2nd baby-shower. With the chosen theme of "elephant" using pink tones we created the following dessert/candy buffet. With only a small budget we were able to create a dessert station that was perfect for an afternoon tea.

Dessert Station Menu:

Mini Vanilla Cupcake
Pink Raspberry Macarons
Oreo Cakepops
Rossette Style RedVelvet Cake

Candy - Persian Fairy Floss, White Toffee Bonbons, Pink Jellybeans, Pink Choc Drops

Using a simple pink backdrop with themed bunting and adding a few eye catching pieces such as a decorative silver cake stand, a birdcage, a beautiful drinks dispenser and rises we were able to achieve exactly what the client was after.

The client and the mother to be were very excited for the guests to arrive. Again proving that the team at The Inspired Occasion are adaptable and can create a beautiful talking point on any budget, from a customised DIY to a styled event managed event

Lego Spectacular - Part 2

Tonight we post more photos from our Lego Party... Enjoy

(The Following Photos where taken by The Inspired Occasion.)

We conclude our Lego Spectacular with some fantastic feedback from our client:

"Hi Alex,

Just wanted to say a big thank you for helping us organise such an amazing party for Tristan. He had loads of fun and everybody was commenting that it was great party. I am really impressed with every little nitty gritty detail you looked into and everything looked GREAT. Comparing to his past 2 parties we've had for him, this has been THE BEST!

Once again, thank you to your and your family for all your hard work and dedication! Pls post some pictures of the party on your facebook page. Would love to see them!

Will touch base with you again sometime in September to discuss about venue for next year for my 2 boys.

Pam"

Lego Spectacular - Part 1

Last month we had so much fun when we event managing and styled a 3rd birthday party with a Lego theme.  Lego, easy you think but not quite so easy, much time and fun was spent researching design ideas and theming.  The following is our interpretation of Lego and we hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Our challenge was to create a themed dessert station, drinks station and children table taking into consideration that we are catering for adults and children, things to be considered were children's party food (including any special dietary requirements), adults finger food catering, and venue logistics to coordinate.

With details and themed edible items on the dessert station including;
  • Lego vanilla cupcake
  • Lego sugar biscuits
  • Red white chocolate ganache macarons
  • Lego oreo cakepops
The dessert station was themed and created by The Inspired Occasion with all stationary, backdrop, props and table wear designed in-house. A carefully selected range of colour coordinated candy was supplied which included jelly beans, choc coated smarties, clouds, raspberry jellies and giant lolly pops.

The children's table was themed and colour cordinated in the typical lego colours of bold red, yellow, blue, orange and green. With each child's place setting receiving a themed party hat and personalised water bottle. We also organised for all the children to feast on fruit platters, crisps, fairy bread, sausage rolls, frankfurts and cheese pizza.

The beverage station provided another eye catching table with themed linens and personalised lego man bunting. The popular drinks dispenser again making the dessert station look impressive.

The fabulous "from Genevieve" was our resident photographer and what great detailed shots she took.

We have so many great photos of this event that we will bring you Part 2 on Sunday night...

Pink, Teal and Purple - a girly birthday!

This is a party we styled for a client's daughters first birthday in December. Sorry it's taken so long to get it up, but with Christmas etc... well, you know how it is! So finally, here it is!

(Just a quick note - we have edited some of the photo's and details to remove the clients personal details to preserve privacy... so where you see things like 'baby' - please be assured it originally read the birthday girls name!)

The brief from the client was to create something simple, classic and pink. We added in touches of teal and purple, with a vintage feel, which made for a pretty girly theme!

The invites - designed by us. We tried to incorporate aspects of the invite throughout the party, in the printables, the backdrops and of course the colours. We also used the initial of the birthday girl, along with the number 1 through out to help keep the theme going.

We created a desert table, along with a main table for the children. We also supplied all the children's catering and a number of activities and games for the guests.

On the children's table, we kept to our theme with customised juice poppers, napkin holders and the colour co-ordinated plates and napkins.

And now - the details!

Musk lollies and sherbets - matched our colours perfectly!
Who doesn't love pink donuts?!
White Chocolate coated Cake pops

Popcorn cones
Vanilla & White Chocolate cupcakes

We also supplied a smash cake for the birthday girl - it was so much fun watching her destroy it! This was the first time we had done one of these and I would highly recommend it!

The highchair is decorated with some ribbon bunting created by Amy of Giggleberry Creations. It was perfect - thanks Amy!

Finally, we also supplied a wishing tree for this party. The tree is from the lovely Amy at Maggie Made. I am not sure that this is what she had in mind for her tree's, but it worked wonderfully and was a great addition to a first birthday party. The guests were all asked to leave their wishes for the birthday girl on little cards that we designed to match the theme. It will be a lovely keepsake for years to come.

The credits!

We had some fabulous people to work with for this party and we would like to thank;

Niki at Candy Soirees for all the candy along with the divine little tote boxes. We have used Niki a number of times now and can't speak highly enough of her services!

Amy at Giggleberry Creations for the lovely bunting on the front of the desert table (which I have to note is actually personalised with the birthday girl's name - removed for privacy reasons) and the super cute ribbon bunting. Thanks Amy!

Amy at Maggie Made for the divine wishing tree. She has some fabulous new tree designs out - so drop by and check them out!

All catering, printables, backdrops, decorations (other than specified above) glassware, tableware by The Inspired Occasion (that's us!!).

And finally - a big thank you to Zoe Twomey-Birks for all the photo's from this party. She really did a fabulous job and I would highly recommend her for all your party/children photography needs!

Hope you enjoyed!

Cheers,
