Sophisticated 40th Bash. Silver, Black and White

A Black, White and Silver cocktail party The Inspired Occasion Event Managed and Styled a few weeks ago and as featured on Bellenza Blog.

Attached are a number of images from a cocktail party we put together for a client last weekend. The occasion was our client’s husband’s 40th Birthday celebration. The client chose a colour scheme of Silver, Black and White and wanted a stylish and sophisticated design. There were 25 adult guests and 6 children who attended this very intimate celebration at our client’s beautiful residence. 
 
The Inspired Occasion managed the event, organising finger food catering for both the adults and children, food service staff,  cocktail tables and stools, gas heaters, table, chair and linen hire.  In keeping with the client’s chosen theme the dessert station was styled using a uniquely crafted backdrop which  incorporated silver beading, with matching table runners, cake stands, risers and silver trays.
 
All dessert station edibles, stationery and themed items were made and designed in-house.
 
The guests were served a finger food menu with a substantial meal box, consisting of;
  
Marinated Lamb Cutlets, 
San Choi  Bow, 
Chicken and Camembert parcels, 
Stuffed Chillies, 
Falafel, 
Moroccan Chicken Balls, 
Capsicum and Feta Tarts,
Marinated Mushrooms
Tofu Balls
Individual Singapore Noodle  boxes

Our themed beverage station, included drinks dispensers, silver tubs, all glass wear, straws, candles and a centre piece.

The client also requested a cake cutting table on which we placed the menu board, plates, forks and take home cake bags.
 
The dessert station was completed with two candy jars filled with Hershey’s Kisses and white chocolate raspberries with the large blackforest gateau,  which just happened to be the guest of honour’s favourite, taking centre stage.

A 30th to remember at OST

A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to coordinate a 30th Birthday celebration at OST Restaurant and Bar.  Whether it’s a quick drink or dinner after work, an intimate cocktail party with your closest friends, a private dinner for 2 or a group gathering OST is the perfect venue. 

The atmosphere is friendly and inviting, the décor is modern and sophisticated with the addition of quirky vintage pieces which hint that this is a venue which does not take itself too seriously. 

The staff at OST created a mouth watering finger food menu for us some of which included

• Pork Belly Terrine
• Spring Rolls
• Cauliflour Cakes
• Soft Shelled Crab Rolls

All of which went perfectly with our signature drink for the evening a sophisticated Chambord Champagne Cocktail.

The bar at OST is well stocked, with many international beers on offer, an extensive wine list, premium spirits and knowledgeable staff who are only too pleased to assist with your choice of tipple.

With the Birthday boy being a Formula 1 fan a stylsh Williams formula 1 car cake was served with the speeches.

'Burlesque Masquerade' cocktail party

We spend a lot of our time doing kids (or child related parties), which we absolutely LOVE - however, every now and then, we do a grown up party as well.  We really do enjoy these opportunities, as we get to play around with things that just won't work for a children's event!

This one was for a pretty special client - she was turning 50 - and had every reason in the world to celebrate. She loves a party, is super (even...dare I say...uber) glamourous and if I can party like she does at 50, I will be a very happy woman! Who am I kidding - I can't party like her now!!

Anyway, the brief was to create burlesque masquerade cocktail party. To bring that glamourous theme through, we started with a red, gold and black colour pallet. We then threw in some feathers and a heap of bling! The custom invites set the scene....

We also created some digital 'save the dates' in the same theme, which were sent to guests about 6 weeks prior to the event via email. These were really well received and for such a big event, I would highly recommend something similar being issued. 

The venue played a staring role on the night, providing a glamourous back drop to proceedings. It also meant we really didn't have to add very much, just some small details to incorporate the personal touch.

We had arranged to collect a number of photo's of the client, which we then scanned and played around with, converting them all to black and white. They were then strung throughout the venue, which added a real talking point with the guests. We also had one enlarged and framed. We customised the frame to fit the theme as well.

A champagne tower was arranged to be poured just before the speeches, it ensured all the guests had a glass of bubbles in hand during the speeches and they all ohhh-ed and ahhh-ed appropriately!

The guests all really got into the theme, with some fantastic masks. Some people had really gone to a lot of effort. Due to privacy reasons, we can't share a lot of those photo's with you - so you will have to trust us that they all looked great!

The cake was made by the wonderful Kayla from Sweet Statements. She really did a brilliant job - and believe me, it tasted as good as it looks! She picked up on the theme wonderfully, designing this divine caramel (top layer) and chocolate mud (bottom layer) cake. She puts so much love into the cakes she designs, they are truly works of art!

The cake bags were designed to match the invites.  The guests were all pretty excited to leave with a little touch of the party for later. I so believe that adults love party bags as much as kids do!

All logistics such as venue selection at the wonderful Silk Road, food and beverage arrangements and selections, invitations, rsvp management, cake, decor and themeing, guest lists was managed by The Inspired Occasion.
