Woodlands Inspired Party - Edibles and Props

A few weeks ago we supplied a client with a few edibles and themed props to help celebrate her daughter’s 1st birthday. The theme was “Woodlands” and after viewing our edibles menu the client settled on a dessert menu of

Mini Rich Chocolate Tarts
Mini Lemon Meringue Tarts
Cake-pops

With the use of some of our props the party was a huge success with the following great feedback from our client.

"Thank you for the tarts, cakepops and hire of decorations for my daughter’s 1st birthday celebrations last weekend. Those oreo cakepops are the most amazing things I’ve ever tasted!"

The Inspired Occasion - Easter finale Part 2

Just a quick blog post tonight on our simple yet elegant Easter table. With our resident bunnies, nesting chicks and personalised chocolate bars adding a little easter themeing.

We hope all our followers have had a great Easter break.

The Inspired Occasion have had a great few days off but are today back into quoting, crafting, baking and creating for some amazing events we have coming up.

To our close Greek connections we are looking forward to seeing what fabulous tables, foods and festivities you have in stall. With our children enjoying a great multicultural lifestyle they are eager to dye eggs red, decorate candles (Labatha) bake traditional Easter bread (tsoureki) and feast on some traditional greek cuisine.

The Inspired Occasion - Easter Special Part 1

The Easter celebration at The Inspired Occasion starts on Good Friday when the entire family gets together for a three course extravaganza which involves a classically set dinner table laden with an array of easter inspired goodies, Entree - Seafood Platter, Main - Salmon Steak and Dessert this year a French inspired Pear and Almond Tart with Butterscotch Glaze.

Our family tradition of grazing all day and sipping on a variety of great Australian wines also includes naps on the couch whilst the young ones play Monopoly, followed by a family game of Pictionary between courses.

This year's Easter dessert station was an Enchanted Picnic inspired theme.   Complete with fluffy bunnies, moss bunnies, picnic baskets, grass runners, hanging bird cages, nesting chics and a variety of edible delights including the following items:
  • Pear and Almond Tart with butterscotch glaze
  • Vanilla Surprise Cupcake with buttercream and chocolate egg toppers
  • Cakepops
  • Themed Sugar Biscuits
  • Personalised Chocolate Bars
and no Easter table would be complete without lots of chocolate easter eggs.

Preparation started early last week with the children having great fun blowing and dying eggs in assorted colours including etching their names and creating patterns.  We then progressed to colouring fondant for sugar bunny cookies all the while trying to keep the little ones amused whilst we continued to source and create elements for the final masterpiece.

Our lovely little moss bunnies found at the Melbourne Flower and Garden Expo.

Our Alice in Wonderland Mushrooms / toadstool props perfect for adding that pop of colour and working fantastically with the enchanted theme.

Garden Tea Party - Come join us down in the garden....

You are invited to join us down in the garden at this beautiful tea party that we designed for a 6th birthday. We wanted to put together something pretty and fun.

Instead of a standard dessert table, we set a beautiful table, filled with all sorts of delicious goodies and flowers from the garden. Each of the children took home one of these gorgeous little flower pots as a take home favour - which they loved!

Above the table we hung lots of pom poms in bright greens, yellow and pinks, as well as a ribbon mobile. Each of the chairs had lovely crisp white covers and big pink bows - so girly and pretty.

We also filled a table with colour co-ordinated candy, persian fairy floss, fun toffee apples and a gorgeous ruffle cake, made by The Inspired Occasion. Above the table we hung another of the ribbon mobiles - these were so simple to put together, yet looked so lovely on the day.

Along with their pot plants, each child also got to take home one of these personalised chocolate bars. They are such a sweet addition to a take home favour - all the kids (and parents) love them!

Finally, what party would be complete without some personalised pop tops? As well as the glass vintage style milk bottles on each place setting, we put together some pop tops for the kids.

We hope you have enjoyed this trip down to the garden with us!
