Catching up

After spending most of our blogging week showing off our Hawaiian Luau party, we have missed a few things that we wanted to catch you all up on!

Firstly, we were honoured to have been reviewed by the Little Crew App earlier in the week. You can read it here. If you haven't come across Little Crew before, then you must get onto it! They review a fabulous range of children's products, services and activities each week and will give you the low down on any sales and specials.

Secondly, we were very excited when Sherryn from Sugar and Spice Children's Market announced our sponsorship of their 1st birthday market on 5th June in Woodend. This will be our first market and will mark a natural expansion of The Inspired Occasion brand. We are very excited about this opportunity and will be sure to update you all as it gets closer.

Finally, as you may know, Alex is a super clever baker, making the most delicious tasting and divine looking 'edibles' around! As we have recently gone through the process of having our kitchen Food Safety Certified, we are now able to provide our range direct to our customers. If you are interested in some treats for your next event, please contact us for a price list.

I think that's it for now... It's been a really busy time over here at The Inspired Occasion, but we are loving every minute of it and are so grateful for all the support and positive feedback we have received from our lovely facebook, blog and twitter friends. You guys are awesome!

We can't wait to share the other bits and pieces we have been developing - but for now, we need to get back to preparing for our Train inspired picnic this weekend.

Cheers,

Vintage Barbie

If you have daughters and your house is anything like mine, a large proportion of toy space is dedicated to Barbie, and her friends, and her accessories, and her cars, and her ponies... the list goes on! There is only so much pink Barbie plastic you can have in one house before it takes over and you have an urge to throw it all away!!

However, when I saw this party by Evelyn and posted on the Birthday Girl blog, my love of Barbie was re-kindled.

The pink and black colour theme brings a chic and elegant look to this Vintage Barbie party. The cake features a real Barbie! The use of the buffet is inspired as well, I love using things that are already in the home to create a perfect event space.

The theme was carried through from the invites, to the place settings, to the take home goodie bags.

The birthday girl wore a matching top finished off with a fantastic tutu/petticoat skirt - I can just imagine her twirling around!

Hope you enjoyed these as much as I did. Can't wait for my daughters next birthday and hope she will allow me to throw one of these for her!
