Creative party favours

We love the idea of giving a small favour to say thank you to the guests at a children's party. It doesn't have to be anything too fancy or big, but we do like giving guests something that they will actually use or eat - rather than ending up on the floor of the car before they even get home.

And while we always like to include something edible (and usually some lollies from the dessert table - it is a party after all) we must admit to being partial to crafty favours. Here is a round up of some of our current favourites....

Hand wrapped crayons - tutorial here

Gorgeously presented sidewalk paint from here

Super cute 'Moody' crayons (I know, more crayons - we love them, ok!) from here

Personalised notebook with pencil holder from here.

Scented playdough with cookie cutters from here

Enjoy!

New Look, New Website - The faces behind "The Inspired Occasion"

Welcome to the new "The Inspired Occasion". A new year,  a new look and new a website. We can't thank Tiffany from Pick Inc Web design enough for working with us to create a logo that reflects who we are.

And on the topic of who we are, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce the faces behind the company. A mother daughter duo who have a flare for style, sophistication and thinking outside the box. We love a challenge and can put many hats on from disney princess to lego to rustic and stylishly lavish events.

Alex the passionate foodie and less is more approach blends perfectly with Susan the creative and details driven stylist. With us both having extensive corporate event management backgrounds we are loving bringing private functions alive with style and attention to detail.

We have already done some great events this year and are excited with having so many  new events in the pipeline to share with you all over the coming months.

Party Feature - Elegant Wedding

We were blown away this week when Christine from Bitter Sweet Creations submitted her very first dessert station to us. What a honour. I think you will agree that Christine has created a beautiful dessert station.

With the bride requesting an all white candy buffet with a splash of coral as this was the colour of the bridesmaids dresses.

Christine also added silver Hershey's Kisses and chocolate hearts wrapped in foil. She also incorporated the word LOVE in front of a gorgeous Swarovski crystal hurricane candle holder which matched the brides centrepieces that the bride had picked out for the tables, with the funniest part being that Christine didn't know this until she arrived to set up!

The bride and groom absolutely loved their candy buffet and of course got to choose their favourite lollies first. All photos are courteous of photosbynicholas.com The wedding was in January 2012 in Newcastle, NSW.

As alway we love to receive your party submissions and inspirations. Please email info@theinspiredoccasion if you have a party or party creation to share.
